libnn - Literature
There are many books about neuronal nets and their mathematical foundation. Among those, the most well kown (at least in Germany) are:
- Andreas Zell, Simulation Neuronaler Nezte, Oldenbourg;
gives a vaste overview over neuronal nets with sufficient mathematical background.
- Heinrich Braun, Praktikum Neuronale Netze, Springer;
short and terse.
- S. Haykin, Neural Networks, a Comprehensive Foundation;
as the title says: very comprehensive with detailled mathematical background.
- J. Hertz, A. Krogh and R.G. Palmer, Introduction to the Theory of Neural Computation, Addison-Wesley;
For those who are more interested in a philosophical perspective of neuronal nets we propose:
- Paul Churchland, Die Seelenmaschine, Spektrum;
explains everything from our mind until the functioning of science by neuronal nets; therefore speculative but impressive.
- Manfred Spitzner, Der Geist im Netz, Spektrum;
explains reasoning, feeling and acting by models based on neuronal nets.
